Unifrog, an internationally recognized organization and a complete destinations platform for students across KS4 and KS5, had conducted the Skills and Enterprise Competition among 6000 international and UK schools.
In order to spread the word about the competition in school, members of the core team went around in all classes of years 7 to 10 and posters were put up about the same. Teachers of the Commerce Department and members of the core team had conducted training sessions and workshops during the recess throughout the week to aid students in collaboratively developing and formulating their own business plan with the help of worksheets, videos, presentations and advice from teachers.
The participating teams created remarkable business models, prototypes and websites that were presented in the first stage which was intraschool (i.e. within the school). Some of the teams’ business plans were: a unique health app called the ‘Health Hub’, an application where skills could be offered and utilized, a scheme to efficiently and effectively use stupendous emerging technology such as nanorobotics and many more.

Of the many teams participating in the competition, only one team with the most practical and suitable business plan was selected by internal judges (teachers and A level students) to compete among the thousands of teams from other schools in the international interschool stage.
The Dubai Scholars community was immensely proud of Rayyan Usman, Purav Dhanjani, Neel Dhakaan, Zainab Mustali and Danielle Goveas who grabbed the first place among such a prodigious number of international and UK schools in this eminently phenomenal competition.

The following is the experience of one of the participants:
“Our goal while selecting the members was to choose smart people with enthusiasm towards business with realistic and practical ideas. The challenge was to get these people to work together flawlessly because when all the members are devoted arguments arise. As a teenager, I have always wanted to earn my own money so I can spend it without hesitation and there weren’t too many ways although I have a handful of skill sets to offer, and so this app solved a problem for me and the people looking for these skills. These kinds of apps did exist before but they weren’t suitable for 14-18 year olds or marketed enough.”
